Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre examines the rise and fall of Black Wall Street, focusing on the tragic events that unfolded over two days and the lasting impact that remains. The film not only revisits the past but also covers present-day efforts to recover unmarked graves at Oaklawn Cemetery—bringing to light the untold stories of the victims.

In this project, I served as the Director of Photography, ensuring that the visuals conveyed the emotional depth of both the tragedy and the ongoing fight for justice. From capturing rare archival footage to filming interviews with historians, community leaders, and activists, I aimed to preserve the dignity of the stories while immersing viewers in the visual narrative of resilience and remembrance.

This documentary includes contributions from key organizations such as the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum, the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation, the Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission, and the Historic Vernon A.M.E. Church.
